Pressure behind one eye: is it still normal?
People tend to underestimate little pains in the body, small back pains, small chest pains, and that small pressure behind one eye. The usual excuse is “I’m healthy; nothing could possibly be wrong with me.” But there are certain factors that we ourselves can’t control. So when you feel that small pain in the back of your eye, is it still dismissible?
If you have flu or your allergies are acting up, then that pressure behind one eye could still be considered dismissible. That pain in your eye could most probably be caused by your inflamed sinuses. But, one good thing about it is you can check your family history; glaucoma is genetically passed on generations, so you can trace whether you’ll have it or not. Once you feel that dull pressure behind one eye, consult your doctor immediately. It may not be prevented, but you can still delay the process and maybe avoid the worst of it – which is complete and total blindness.

○ Eye-stretching – Believe it or not, you can actually stretch those beautiful eyes. All you need to do it raise your eyebrows for about half a minute. If you can, try not to blink as well, or move the eyeball around or left to right. This relaxes the eyes greatly, and relieves pressure behind the eyes.
○ 20-20-20 – No, it’s not a lock combination: this is the rule that great artists use to ensure their eyes are relaxed while working. Every 20 minutes, relax your eyes and focus by looking at something about 20 feet away. This technique is fool-proof; it refocuses your eyes and removes strain from them, caused by focusing or looking at a nearby object.
